Cultural guides are our trained and culturally aware personnel who look after the overall wellbeing of the students.
Cultural guides are our trained and culturally aware personnel who look after the overall wellbeing of the students, particularly their mental wellbeing. They are there to connect with the students, answer their questions, and address/identify their concerns and interests. They also help manage students' safety when moving from place to place and general timeliness regarding meals and scheduled activities. They're there to focus on the details so the faculty/program leader can focus on the bigger picture of the purpose/outcomes of the trip.
The CBB Medical Personnel consists of trained and active nurses who are dedicated to their healthcare career.
The CBB Medical Personnel consists of trained and active nurses who are dedicated to their healthcare career. They oversea group's medical health needs. This includes learning students' dietary needs and confirming at each mealtime that students with special needs have been appropriately served. The personnel also always carry with them a medical bag with supplies that can treat a wide range of emergency issues. We also encourage the medical personnel to interact/engage with students. Building a good relationship with the students also creates the trust and familiarity that increases the personnel’s' ability to provide medical care for students. The Medical Personnel will be the first point of advice in all medical emergencies or situations.
The CBB Security Personnel consist of seasoned security experts who have had a long career in security and peacekeeping roles.
The CBB Security Personnel consist of seasoned security experts who have had a long career in security and peacekeeping roles. They are there to ensure the group's physical safety. Ghana is a relatively peaceful and safe country. So the security personnel are there not only to reduce chances of the group being targets of criminal activity, but also to help prevent accidents and injury. When moving in large groups on-foot, the security personnel is trained to maintain situational awareness when students are crossing the street, walking through crowded spaces, and keeping the group together. The Security Personnel will be the first point of advice in all situational emergencies. We like to include this service to provide additional peace of mind for the faculty/group leader, to enable them to focus more on the purpose/outcome of the trip.
